Summary
Jarod talks about MythTV: how to set it up, and what you can do with it.
Abstract
MythTV is a GPL licensed suite of programs that allow you to build the mythical home media convergence box on your own using Open Source software and operating systems. MythTV is known to work on Linux and Mac OS X (PowerPC and Intel). It does not run on Windows. Jarod discusses MythTV's capabilities, answers questions, and demos a full MythTV setup on a Shuttle PC with a mix of SDTV and HDTV pre-recorded content. Jarod works at Red Hat, and is co-author of the book "Hacking MythTV" (ExtremeTech), along with co-authors Ed Tittel, Matthew Wright, and Justin Korelc.
